Sri Lanka Scout Association - Opening of National Headquarters Office

The long awaited dream of a new headquarters building for the Sri Lanka Scout Association became a reality on 5^th December 2011 when the new office of the headquarters was declared open in the Upper Ground Floor of by Mr NawazCaffoor – Vice President and long standing member of the Committee of the Sri Lanka scout Council

The ribbon was cut by Nr Nawaz Caffoor and the moving in took place followed by a short ceremony which began with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the senior officials at 10.00 a.m. The Chief Commissioner Mr C.Batuwangala gave the welcome address and stated that it was a great day for all those who have worked hard to make the new headquarters office a reality on the eve of the centenary year.

Mr Leslie Rupasinghe – President SLSA and Nr.Shiraz Salih – Deputy Chief Commissioner, addressed the gathering

Mr Nawaz Caffoor said that he has always been supporting the SLSA in whatever way he could and was happy to be associated with the opening. He also handed over a donation towards the building.

Warrants of Appointment were also presented to Mr Shiraz Salih – Deputy Chief Commissioner, M/s M.F.S.Muheed, Janaprith Fernando Special Comissionersand Mr Rohan Wirasekera – National Programme Comissioner.

Mrs Soma Perera the most senior member of the staff proposed a vote of thanks.
