Sri Lanka Scouts – New International Commissioner

Mr. JanaprithSalinda Fernando has been appointed as the International Commissioner with effect from 21^st December 2011. Mr. Fernando who served as a Special Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scouts and the District Commissioner of Colombo is a Wood Badge Holder. He is presently the Chairman of the Management Sub Committee of the WOSM- Asia Pacific Region and actively participates in Regional events and organises many National Events. He joined the scout movement in 1979 as a Junior Scout and has won the Scout Green Cord and the President’s Award. He has attended many Jamborees all over the world, World Scout Conferences and Asia Pacific Regional Conferences and visited many Scout Training Centres abroad and is well versed with World Scouting. Janaprith is an Attorney-at-Law by profession and was the President of the Colombo Law Society in the years 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 and runs his own chambers. He is the ATAS Country Co-ordinator and the President of the Sri Lanka Queen’s & President’s Scout Guild.
